The Gourmet Festival is the showcase for an international culinary elite, which every January attracts gourmets and foodies in droves to the Engadine. During the festival, St. Moritz celebrates a magnificent feast for the senses at 1882 metres a.s.l. In any case, an incredible variety of regional, creative and progressive food can be found here all year round. Its proximity to Italy, its location on the transit route and the trade route between northern and southern Europe encouraged an open-minded approach to foreign food and ingredients. In the 19th century, the locals were also known throughout Europe and even in faraway Russia as excellent confectioners and bakers, bringing new eating habits and recipes with them when they returned to the Engadine. According to the latest count, St. Moritz has a total of 402 Gault-Millau points and 7 Michelin stars, distributed among 27 restaurants. The nine-day festival begins with a glamorous opening in one of the 5-star festival partner hotels and ends with a prestigious finale in the luxury hotel Suvretta House. In between, gourmet safaris, the traditional Kitchen Party at Badrutt's Palace Hotel and many other culinary events will tempt you. The invited international guest chefs are at the forefront of these events. Book your Gourmet Dîner with the guest chef of your choice directly at the relevant partner hotel.
